UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU RUN
Use an approved project with TypeScript 5.x and @types/node installed, and package.json set to "type": "module". Azure SDK examples also require the packages named in their requirements. Compile into a separate folder. These scripts use Node.js APIs and are not browser snippets.
tsc --strict --target ES2022 --module nodenext --moduleResolution nodenext --outDir dist script.ts # Only after successful checks and review: node dist/script.js
TypeScript adds compile-time checks; it does not validate JSON or external input at runtime. Use explicit guards on unknown values. The library examples demonstrate both types and runtime checks.
const value: unknown = JSON.parse(input);
if (typeof value !== "object" || value === null) {
throw new Error("Expected an object");
}Use a project-local compiler, strict checks and a reviewed dependency lockfile. A syntax transformation is not the same as a full type-check. Build instructions here assume Node.js type definitions are available.
tsc --version tsc --noEmit --strict --target ES2022 --module nodenext --moduleResolution nodenext script.ts
Tailor parameters, read every file path and inspect the output on sample data. Nothing in this page is executed against your devices. Export runbooks to retain edited copies.
// Prefer unknown over any for untrusted input. // Runtime validation still matters after a clean build.

Validate a JSON service definition using explicit runtime checks, not a type assertion.
Runtime type guards · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+Report flags that are not explicitly boolean; does not rewrite the configuration.
Record type validation · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+Input {"baseline":{"PORT":80},"actual":{}}. Compares top-level keys and JavaScript types; never prints values. Does not validate nested configuration.
Node.js built-ins · TypeScript 5.9+, Node.js 22+Validate a JSON ticket array and count tickets in each priority without printing subjects.
Discriminated string unions · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+Validate timezone-qualified dates and check whether the current time lies in the window.
Date validation · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+Validate an exported backup inventory and flag records older than 24 hours. Does not establish restorability.
node:fs/promises · TypeScript 5.x with Node.js 22+Check artifact version, HTTPS download URL and SHA-256 shape without fetching or deploying.
Object validation · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+Check a JSON inventory for missing or duplicate string asset identifiers.
Map / unknown validation · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+Validate a JSON array of HTTP status numbers and summarise response classes.
Typed reducers · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+Flag conflicting reservations for the same host, protocol and port without scanning any network.
node:fs/promises · TypeScript 5.x with Node.js 22+Compare an array such as ["10.0.0.0/24","10.0.0.128/25"]. IPv4 only; O(n²), intended for small allocation lists. Host bits are normalised.
Node.js built-ins · TypeScript 5.9+, Node.js 22+Calculate nearest-rank p50, p95 and p99 from a JSON array of millisecond samples.
Numeric validation · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+List Azure resource groups with the SDK. Adapted from Azure-Samples/azure-sdk-for-js-samples with retained MIT licence.
@azure/identity / @azure/arm-resources · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+ and Azure SDK packagesList subscription tag names with the SDK. Adapted from Azure-Samples/azure-sdk-for-js-samples with retained MIT licence.
@azure/identity / @azure/arm-resources · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+ and Azure SDK packagesInventory resources in an Azure group. Adapted from Azure-Samples/azure-sdk-for-js-samples with retained MIT licence.
@azure/identity / @azure/arm-resources · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+ and Azure SDK packagesCheck Azure provider registration. Adapted from Azure-Samples/azure-sdk-for-js-samples with retained MIT licence.
@azure/identity / @azure/arm-resources · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+ and Azure SDK packagesReview generic role exports for wildcard action strings, without contacting an identity provider.
node:fs/promises · TypeScript 5.x with Node.js 22+Compute capped exponential retry delays to spot policies that exceed a service response budget.
node:fs/promises · TypeScript 5.x with Node.js 22+Validate service names and references, then find dependency cycles before planning startup order.
node:fs/promises · TypeScript 5.x with Node.js 22+Estimate days until capacity is exhausted using an exported free-space and daily-growth inventory.
node:fs/promises · TypeScript 5.x with Node.js 22+Input [{"started":"2026-01-01T00:00:00Z","restored":"2026-01-01T00:30:00Z"}]. Calendar elapsed time, not business hours or SLA compliance.
Node.js built-ins · TypeScript 5.9+, Node.js 22+Input [{"id":"INC1","status":"open","owner":null}]. Closed and resolved statuses are excluded; adapt these labels to your ticket system. No ticket contents printed.
Node.js built-ins · TypeScript 5.9+, Node.js 22+Validate a JSON ticket export and identify open tickets older than the configured hours. This measures elapsed time, not business-hours SLA compliance.
node:fs, Date · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+Input [{"id":"CHG1","start":"2026-01-01T00:00:00Z","end":"2026-01-01T01:00:00Z"}]. Half-open intervals; touching windows do not collide. Does not infer affected services.
Node.js built-ins · TypeScript 5.9+, Node.js 22+Input a JSON object of response headers captured separately. Offline presence checks only; not a security certification. HSTS is relevant to HTTPS.
Node.js built-ins · TypeScript 5.9+, Node.js 22+Input {"allowedHosts":["example.com"],"urls":["https://example.com/path"]}. Exact host matching only; no requests, URL paths or query secrets printed.
Node.js built-ins · TypeScript 5.9+, Node.js 22+Input [100,101,104]. Detect missing ranges and repeated sequence numbers without generating every missing value. Only meaningful for one ordered event stream; resets must be split first.
Node.js built-ins · TypeScript 5.9+, Node.js 22+Validate UTC warranty dates in an asset export and report expired or soon-expiring rows for renewal planning.
node:fs, Date · TypeScript 5.x / Node.js 22+Treat imported JSON as unknown and check its shape before use. A type assertion changes the compiler view; it does not validate outside data.
